During the making of "Dove of Hope", Margie has a chance to act as a mother of a baby boy. Margie said to the reporters that although she is very succesful in her career, Margie hope one day she would be a happy wife and mother.

Although her brother is a doctor, Margie does not want him to deliver her baby because she feels that having a baby is a very personal thing and it would be better if she asked another doctor to deliver the baby.
Because she haven't taken up the job of MC for a period of time, Margie's performance that day was not as good as before but the citizens still likes her and asked for her autograph. When asked if she will continue to work after she have the baby, Margie said that she never said that she quited so if the work is appropriate for her, she will accept the job offer.
Margie plans on having the baby in England and if everything goes as planned, she wants to have another baby in the next 2 years.

Although she tried to be as discreet as possible, she was still discovered by the reporters. In the end, Margie agreed to be interviewed about how she felt being be a new mother. Her husband was by her side the whole time and even recorded the giving birth process using a camcorder.
When the reporters heard that Margie has already went into labour, they immediately rushed to Yan On Hospital. Unfortunately, they were told by the hospital staff that Margie has left the hospital. One of the reason being that she has already been found out the the reporters. Margie's older brother, a doctor at Yan On Hospital, told reporters that Margie wanted to keep a low profile and did not want to be interviewed. The reporters then remembered that Margie has another brother who is a doctor at Ma Lai Hospital in Hong Kong Island. They decided to try their luck at Ma Lai to see if they could find Margie. After some searching, the reporters found out that Margie was indeed at Ma Lai and was staying in a first class room. In order to be discreet, she refused to accept any flowers or gifts. Margie's husband, mother in law, and some friends started to arrive at one the afternoon to visit. Smiling the whole time, Margie's husband Stephen could not hide his happiness.
About 3 pm, Margie was brought to see the baby in a wheelchair. She still looked swelled up and very tired. When she saw that reporters were taking pictures, she immediately asked them not to as she is not in her best appearence. But she was cooperative by letting the reporters interview her.
Margie said that although she used local anesthesia to reduce the pain, she said the process was very painful, it hurted so much she cannot describe it. If she were to rate the pain, would be a 10. She was in labour for 10 hours before the baby was born. Margie was asked if her husband was by her side to give her support? She said that he was recording the whole process on a video camcorder, he looked very scared, and if she had grabbed on to him when she screamed, he would be in more pain than her. Because the anesthesia did not completely fade away, she felt very dizzy after giving birth. Margie said that she will breast feed the baby because people tell her it's much healthier for the baby. She has not thought about having a second child yet.
Margie gained 40 pounds before giving birth, however she does not want to tell how much she weights now. Her husband was close by with a camcorder in his hands, ready to shoot more videos of his adorable new son. When reporters suggested that the three take a family picture together, Stephen refused saying he did not want pictures of his son exposed until he reaches one month old.

Prior to going into labour, Margie always brought along three items with her whenever she leaves the home. The first item is a suitcase, the second is a camcorder, and the third is a Baby's Box. A Baby's Box is for storing the embryological cord which can be kept frozen for many years. Should her child become ill later in life, the blood from the embryological cord can be used to save his life. Of course, she hopes that she will never have to use it.
Margie confirmed that she will choose to breast her baby and is not afraid that her figure will change because of that. She believe she will not have trouble losing weight since she plans to take care of the baby herself. That alone will take up alot of time and energy.
Margie's older brother, who is a doctor at Ma Lai Hospital, is often seen entering his sister's hospital room. He reassures everyone that Margie is not ill. The reason for his frequent visits is because he has to deliver food to his sister. Ho Yin was very comfortable in his mother's womb, and thus arrived a few days later than his Dec. 29 th due date. ‘I was told by many people that I should have my baby on the 1st of January because it would be very glorious to give birth to the year's first baby. It did not mattered to me when the baby was born as long as he is healthy.' However, the soon to be aunts and uncles were getting very impatient. ‘On Dec. 31th, my brothers and sisters all came over to my place to have a fondue party. They said they want to make a lot of noise so the baby would come out because he is too comfortable in there.' That night, the baby was indeed awaken by all the noise and Margie was brought to the hospital at 3 in the morning. Margie gave birth in the most loving and comfortable surrounding. ‘My brother's girlfriend went into the delivery room with me and my husband recorded the process on a camcorder. However, he only recorded my facial expressions and not the most important moment. I think it's better this way, at least it is easier on him. He later told me that he was actually very scared.' Once the baby was born Margie forgot about all the pain she went through. ‘It's like I'm in a dream. Ho Yin has been born a month already and I still cannot accept the fact that I gave birth to a child. It's all very magical, how come I became pregnant with a baby.... he is produced by my husband and I.... he is my child.....' The birth of the baby has changed Margie's lifestyle. She know understands the greatest of parent hood. ‘The baby became hungry very quickly when he was fed breast milk. She is not worried about ruining her figure because she has almost loss all the weight she gained from having her first baby. She is currently only 5 pounds heavier than before. However, she is still quite disgusted by her round belly and flabbly upper arms.
Margie stressed that she did not intentionally try to lose weight. Her weight loss is mainly the result of taking care of her son and quitting rice and fatty foods. Margie loves eating rice, she could eat 2-3 bowls a meal, so it was quite difficult at first. But for the sake of beauty, she had to resist from eating rice. She then said that this is a very frustrating matter since she used to be the type who could not get fat even if she were drenched in oil. She never had to worry about dieting and could not believe that this is now happening to her. As to wheather her husband prefer her to be chubbier to skinnier, Margie said that he has never expressed his preference. But there was a period of time when she only weighed ninety some pounds and he complained that she was too skinny.
Her figure aside, Margie said that raising a child brings her lots of joy. She tells about the time her son had a "boo boo" right in the middle of his bath. Though she could not believe how he could have done this, she thought it was very amusing and took a picture of the incident. Afterwards she showed it to some friends and they scolded her for such insane behavior. If it were someone else's kid, she would have thought it was sickening too, but its different when its your own. Margie claims every mother is like that!
